What is the process of PET sheet extrusion?

(1) The primary condition for the production of PET transparent sheet is the control of drying time and hot air dew point. The drying effect directly determines the physical and mechanical properties and production of the sheet.

The drying temperature and drying time should be controlled when it id goes drying , it can not be too high nor too low. If the dew point can not fall, it is necessary to check the situation of the molecular sieve, the aging molecular sieve can not absorb the water in the air, and it can not achieve the purpose of drying slices, so we should change a new molecular sieve.

(2)If the temperature of the melt exceeds 280°C, the PET sheet will discolor or decompose, so the melt temperature should be controlled below 280°C.

(3) The head die lip gap determines the sheet flatness and thickness uniformity , and the three-roll temperature plays a key role in the transparency of the sheet. The PET melt needs to quickly avoid the fastest crystallization rate temperature zone, and instantly drops from the melting temperature to the crystallization temperature below, so the distance from the die head to the calender roll is particularly important.

A large capacity PET sheet extrusion line landed in Saudi Arabia in June 2024

PET sheet extrusion line is one of the most classical extrusion line in JWELL。Jwell company exported more than 100 set PET sheet production to all over the world. 

In Saudi Arabia customer’s factory , our after-sale engineer Mr Chen, together with factory’s employee, successfully installed the machine line. This line has a design capacity between 900kg/h-1200kg/h. It adopts parallel twin screw extruder 95,co-extruded with 65 parallel twin screw. When machine first is running in the workshop, we have make the output 1100kg/h. In a field situation, the customer's electric capacity is not enough, the electric current is high, it is easy to trip,if no this accident, the output is over 1100kg/h.
